Poetry contests

The following are some contests you may be interested in entering.

THE FOLLOWING RULES APPLY TO ALL MSPS CONTESTS LISTED:

Contests are open to all poets.
Poets may enter as many poems as they wish but only one prize may be won by any poet.
Entry Fee is $3.00 per poem.
No foreign country check or currency will be accepted.
Send two copies of each poem – one with name and address and one with no. ID for judge.
For a Winners’ List, see on this website, or send SASE (self-addressed stamped envelope) –
Send entries to:  Roberta Hung, Contest Chairman., 22 Salisbury Rd., Wakefield, MA 01880.
Mark name of contest on envelope.

OF THEE I SING CONTEST
Deadline:  January 15
Subject:  Praise of Someone – Someplace – Something (human – vegetable – animal – mineral – flora, etc.)
Form:  Poet’s Choice
Line limit:  40 Lines
Prizes:  $50     $25     $10
Poems must NOT have been previously published or won ANY prize.

THE GERTRUDE DOLE MEMORIAL AWARD
Deadline:  March 15
Subject and Form:  Poet’s Choice
Line Limit:  40 Lines
Prizes:  $25     $15     $10
Poems must NOT have been previously published or have won ANY prize.

NAOMI CHERKOFSKY MEMORIAL CONTEST
Deadline:  June 30
Subject and Form:  Poet’s Choice
Line Limit:  40 Lines
Prizes:  $50     $30     $20
Poems entered must NOT have been published or won ANY prize.

ANNUAL POET’S CHOICE CONTEST
Deadline:  November 1
Subject and Form:  Poet’s Choice
Line Limit:  40 Lines
Prizes:  $50     $25     $15
Poems entered must NOT have been published or won ANY prize.

ARTHUR (SKIP) POTTER MEMORIAL CONTEST
Deadline:  December 15
Subject and Form:  Poet’s Choice
Line Limit:  40 Lines
Prizes:  $50     $30     $20
Poems entered must be original (written by entrant) and MAY have been previously published.

    Would you be willing to add the Amy Dengler Memorial Contest ? I know you included it in the Blog Archive for June 2011, but would greatly appreciate listing it in this Poetry Contest page.

  4. It is January 2023. Are there any current contests? Could you include the due date for submissions, including the year? Thanks!

    1. We are just getting up to speed again after the years of the pandemic, so we have not yet decided if we will have any contests. I’ll be sure to update if we do. Best wishes
